Souvenirs for the Future
In a dreamy house looking over Tamarama and filled with impeccable Art, a group of women gathered around to discuss the future of our natural landscape, based on souvenirs from the past.
Julia Champtaloup utilises her creativity and her voice as a way of engaging people with critical conversations around nature and climate change, aiming to impart a sense of carefully placed urgency.
A collection of postcards, books from botanists past and Julia’s photography make up a ‘series of symbolic souvenirs’ - a tactical and engaging way of encouraging ecoliteracy around carbon sinks, pollinators and biodiversity. Complete with action cards, these souvenirs ensure there is no excuse for making a simple gesture to encourage and nurture mother nature.
